Lundin Oil directors appointed Directors and President of Mart Resources

Mart Resources, Inc. Changes Management and Adds New Board Members
CALGARY, ALBERTA--Mart Resources, Inc. (MMT: ASE) is pleased to announce a restructuring of its management and Board of Directors today. Mr. Vince Hamilton has been appointed President and a Director of the Company. He will be located at Mart's office in London, England.

Prior to joining Mart, Mr. Hamilton was the General Manager of Lundin Oil UK (formerly Sands Petroleum UK). After leaving Shell Oil Company in 1991, he worked in Africa and South America developing exploration and production opportunities for Canadian junior oil companies. He holds a Master of Science degree in geology from the Colorado School of Mines.

Mart also announces the appointment of Magnus Nordin as a Director of the Company. Mr. Nordin, a Swedish citizen, has a background in corporate finance and is a Director of Lundin Oil AB (formerly Sands Petroleum AB) of Stockholm. He holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of California at Los Angeles.

These appointments will help position the Company to rapidly finalize oil and gas exploration and development opportunities in West Africa that are presently being negotiated. Mr. Hamilton and Mr. Nordin have various experience and knowledge of African oil business as well as significant relations with European financial institutions.

Dr. Robert Leslie, who stepped down as President of Mart effective September 1, 1999, said that he strongly supports the new appointments and is excited about the Company's future. He will remain an active member of Mart's Board of Directors.
