That's a lot of money for a company that might take 10 years before it turns a profit.

Then we have to figure out that "why Janus Bought"?
Unlike DB, Janus and others(the current Amzn institutions-holders) DO NOT have the very low-cost averages. Janus increased their holding to greater than 10% of the Amzn outstanding shares last month therefore a 13G was required(within 10 days of the accumulation). If Janus did not want to make a statement or did not want to or did not have to, then they can just purchase 9.5% and not having to make the declaration in the timely basis. The 13G came out while Amzn was trading UNDER $45(split adjusted).

Then, why do we still have the 15+ million short shares? Always a floor!
