SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The Charles Schwab Corporation
(NYSE: SCH) announced today the appointment of David Thelander to a senior
position in its Corporate Oversight division. Mr. Thelander joins the Company
as Senior Vice President, Chief Counsel, Schwab International.
Mr. Thelander will have responsibility for legal issues facing Charles
Schwab as it moves to expand its businesses internationally. Mr. Thelander
joined Schwab from Montgomery Asset Management, LLC, where he was General
Counsel. He previously served as Corporate Counsel for Franklin-Templeton
Group. For four years he served as Senior Counsel -- Division of Enforcement
of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Mr. Thelander holds a J.D. degree from the University of Vermont and a
B.A. from the State University of New York.
