DJ Com21/CableLabs -2: Test Info Disclosed In Nov Or Dec

MILPITAS, Calif. (Dow Jones)--Com21 Inc. (CMTO) didn't receive certification from
Cable Television Laboratories Inc. after failing to pass certain software-related tests.
In a press release Thursday, Com21 said it plans to submit its cable modem for another
round of testing, scheduled for announcement in late November or early December.
As reported July 26, the CableLabs consortium failed to mention Com21 in its index of
companies whose cable modems were certified for retail sale in late July.
CableLabs' certification carries a sort of industry seal of approval, by notifying
consumers and cable operators that certain cable modems comply with the consortium's
interface specifications.
Com21 provides systems products for the broadband access market.
