Computer Associates Chosen By P.O.V. Magazine As One Of America's Top 12 Companies

CA Ranked Highest in Pay Among 'Dynamic Dozen'

ISLANDIA, N.Y., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) today announced that it has been cited by P.O.V. magazine, a new publication for young male professionals, as one of the nation's 12 best companies to work for, making CA one of the magazine's ''Dynamic Dozen.'' CA ranked in the top three, among the more than 400 companies surveyed.

The Dynamic Dozen article, which appeared in P.O.V.'s September 1999 issue, provided career-motivated individuals an overview of what to expect from a top employer. The ranking factors include promotion opportunities, location, company performance, benefits and compensation. CA was specifically cited for offering the best salary and bonus structure of the 12 companies.

''We're delighted that CA continues to receive honors for its progressive work environment,'' said Gary Quinn, executive vice president for global information and administrative services at CA. ''This recognition echoes our continued leadership in workplace quality and our unwavering commitment to our employees.''

CA offers a wide range of benefits, which include state-of-the-art health and fitness centers at all offices with 100 employees or more. CA fitness centers are equipped with exercise and weight rooms, and recreational facilities, including racquetball and tennis courts, jogging tracks and basketball courts. The company also offers an extensive intramural sports program.

The fitness centers are staffed by certified personal fitness trainers and exercise physiologists who are available for individual counseling and workout programs. CA's other benefits include free breakfasts, free dinner for employees who work late, a generous 401(k) profit sharing/retirement plan with company-funded discretionary contributions, a comprehensive training and development program, tuition reimbursement and an on-site Montessori-based child development center for employees' children.

Professionals today want ''equity, fun and the opportunity to learn and advance,'' according to the editors of P.O.V. The companies that qualified as the best places to work were described not only as ''leaders in their respective industries, but blazing human resource trails that the rest of corporate America will follow.''

P.O.V. is a monthly guide for getting ahead at work and play for young male professionals. P.O.V. was recently named one of Adweek's 10 up-and-coming magazines. For more information, visit the P.O.V. Web site at povmag.com.
