I do not know much about ZCON but have done some reading on other
companies in the printed circuit board (PCB), contract manufacturing
business. As of last Friday I had the following basic data:

Company 52 week range EPS (TTM) Last Price PE
Zycon (ZCON) 9.875-16.75 0.97 14 14
Merix (MERX) 23.25-40.5 1.86 31.75 17
Hadco (HDCO) 20.25-36 2.56 23.5 9.2
Continental (CCIR) 10.25-17.75 1.07 12.75 12

Altron (ALRN) 13.25-25.5 1.06 23.5 23
Sanmina (SANM) 17.25-39 1.28 36.5 28

The last two are in slightly different business with apparently higher
margins and growth rates and thus command much higher multiples.

Over the last few months CCIR and HDCO have been hit hard after,
respectively, issuing warnings on coming earnings and showing a
decrease in backlog (even after a record quarter - HDCO). I am not
sure how this should reflect on ZCON, but it seems to me a factor to
consider when considering an investment in it?

As you know probably, ZCON and I think also CCIR have been public
for a year or less. HDCO has been around for a long time and does
seem pretty solid. Merix has some Wall Street following (H&Q) and is
run by a former Apple executive Debbie Coleman.

I would love to learn more about Zycon in order to compare their
business outlook with CCIR, HDCO or even MERX.
