Here's one for us all to take a look at and keep an eye on. No hurry here. MKIE
I just thought, hmmmm buy what you use and what you know. This company makes very high quality affordable audio recording equipment. Their stuff is found in home studios and lower budget pro studios. They really revolutionized their niche and blurred the lines between million dollar studios and well equipped home/project studios. I use one of their analog consoles, and it favorably compares with consoles costing $125,000. They know where to cut corners and where not to, and have built a VERY solid reputation.
Their new digital consoles are amazing and sell for under 10,000. The pro digital consoles start at around $250,000. The Mackie has similar automation, digital signal processing and specs. Believe me the pro gear is NOT 25 times as good (at 25 times the price).
Mackie is now gearing up to release some sort of digital audio recorder. They have begun teaser ads in the major industry magazines hinting at what the new product line may be. The new stuff will be unveiled at the AES (Audio Engineering Society) convention later this month, and will likely ship soon thereafter. I will be at the convention, and believe me I will look up this things skirt till I know the whole story.
This stock trades a little thin, but I KNOW that if the new line is anything like the other stuff, it will create a major stir and sell like crazy. It's trading near it s 52 week low, and with a major new product coming out, I think it is worth a look.
