When I was little, there was a girl, about two years older than I, and larger, named Pam who was in the habit of slapping boys, serene in the knowledge that they would never hit her back. She slapped me a few times, and I complained to my mother, who gave me special permission to slap her back. Finally, the moment of truth came: she slapped me, and before I could think of what I was doing, I slapped her back. She looked totally shocked, and stuttered "Y--y-y-y-ou sl-sl-sl-slapped me". I just shrugged....She never touched me again...
