Armin: here's my opinion. Which, since I am not an informed investor, is subject to change at any time -g-:

1. Only 8 or 9 million subscribers. Not enough to be a dominant force.

2. Buyouts of cable companies are also related to a specific geographical base as well for specific strategic and tactical needs of the acquiring company. Comparing value of Comcast subscriber base to boughtout prices paid for other subscribers is very dangerous in my opinion.

3. Comcast is in a variety of businesses or holds interests in a number of businesses. It's near impossible to figure out what they all total to or what affect they might have on the bottom line. My summary of Comcast is that Comcast management runs a cable firm, provides entertainment and programming(especially sports), owns and operates QVC, and likes to do deals. (4 businesses -g-)

Meanwhile, the stock is near its lows for the year, a lot of exciting things are happening with Comcast and the industry, Comcast seems to have the financials, foresight, and experience to capitalize on possibilities as they become available, and so... perhaps, there is a pony there for me too under all the persiflage. Starting a small position today.
