I agree that to surrender to the status quo will get us nowhere. The status quo you refer to was put here over a 63 year rein of almost uninterrupted congressional rule by the Democrats. They made the laws we are living by today for the most part.

They also raised our taxes to the point that most families have to have both parents working instead of just one parent working like it was when I was your age and my mom stayed at home to raise me and my brother and sister. I am working nearly the entire first half of the year just to pay my federal income taxes.

I agree that to surrender to the status quo will get us nowhere. I'm all for reforming our tax code, reducing taxes on working Americans and getting the federal government less involved with our daily lives. All we need is a president who will sign the legislation this congress has repeatedly sent to him which he has vetoed time and again.
