90% of the consumers in the US have "slow" connections. It is suicide to attempt to sell to them with an attitude like that when they are used to being catered to by companies like MSFT, Schwab, and Inuit.

Sorry to rag on you Reginald, but 90% of customers in the US don't have machines that will run Win2000 effectively. That's because Microsoft design it to run well on their developer machines, and the average Joe still has a good old Pentium. So the real question is: Will Joe spend $2000 to upgrade his machine to run the latest MicroBloat Software (sorry I mean Microsoft Bloatware), or will he fork over $40/mo to speed up his Internet connection by 100x and get his software for Free.

P.

P.S. To be PC, I should note that what applies to Joe Consumer, also applies to Joan, and Spot the dog.
