To expand on Andy's previous post, I think we need to try and evaluate the level of risk that potential IBM competition and Intel's new interest in comm networking brings to PMCS.

While I'm no expert, I know we have a lot of smart people on this thread.

What worries me is the "deep pockets" that Intel/IBM bring to the table. Intel with the previous acquisition of Level One seems to be pointing directly at the smaller players like PMCS, VTSS, etc. I may be off base on specific product competition, but longer term intrusion into PMCS' market space is worthy of concern. Perhaps today's slippage reflects this, or if might be simply market driven.

Am trying to stimulate discussion here. Bottom line: Does possible entry of IBM/Intel into PMCS' space warrant serious reconsideration of our positions?
