Unified code base? Hey, I'm not an engineer but, doesn't "NT" stand for New Technology?

Isn't Solaris (and Linux) SRV4? Doesn't that account for the vast majority of the *nix code base?

How can New Technology (especially from that outfit) have a better security model than mature technology (built on open standards)?

The security claim of Win2K is based largely on the absence of an important feature (remote administration). The NT security claim assumes that the admin is keeping the server on his nightstand.

Speaking of security Reg, you mentioned Active X (which of course you understand to be a security nightmare, particularly with the integrated browser 'innovation'). Is it your understanding that the subscription Office that M$ is mentioning as being on deck is based on ActiveX code?
