Well, apparently the 'bigtime crack' was a relative term. Hotmail *was cracked, but it was an easy exploit of the M$ application software (nothing to do with Unix). Things REALLY aren't going Microsoft's way lately.

How Hotmail Blew It...

"Analysis: Taking advantage of the Hotmail security
hole was as easy as stealing an idling Porsche with the
keys in the ignition switch."

Here's one on the M$ JVM.

Another Microsoft security flaw has been
found, this time in the Java Virtual Machine.

The flaw could allow a Java applet to wreak
havoc on a system if the user simply views a
Web page or e-mail message. The security
hole allows hackers to create an attack applet
that is attached to an HTML page and
delivered to Java Virtual Machines that have
Internet Explorer and Outlook built into them.

Here's one from Wired...

"Some experts have have long argued that MS
Windows was inherently insecure, but now a
Microsoft manager has confirmed it.

These are all just from today, folks.
