CB leasing (con't) - if a CB takes cash in lieu of gold I don't think it would 'be happy' to do so. It would either have to replace the gold itself by buying it in the market, or else book it as a sale.

Also, re: the 2 % increase in gold production, what was the increase in demand? Hasn't it been about 8 %? Just thought I'd mention it - it's always the same thing - people seem to focus on one side or another - rarely both - as in CB sales - never CB purchases. d
