Jobs, wages inch forward

The American economy created 124,000 new
non-farm jobs during August, the government reported
Friday, a pace much slower than expected. Average
hourly earnings rose by only two cents, less than the 5
cent increase expected by economists. Treasury prices
bumped forward immediately after the report.
