New Filters and Directional Couplers for DAB
ORLAND PARK, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 3, 1999--Andrew Corporation's Passive Power division introduced two new filters and a field adjustable coupler series for US and European radio broadcasters.
- The S-Band DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) Bandpass Filter is

aimed at OEM suppliers for the new US DAB service. This filter is

designed for 2.3 GHz for critical and non critical emission

masks. The performance of the new filter meets the sharp response

characteristics specified for DAB out-of-band emissions as well

as providing low insertion loss and VSWR. Precision factory

machining extracts the maximum performance capabilities at S-Band

from Dual Mode filter technology.

- The Low Power VHF DAB Bandpass Filter is for lower power ranges

below 500 W and is suitable for European DAB broadcasting. This

filter is typically integrated into a DAB transmitter. These low

loss DAB filters provide superior power handling from a smaller

size unit.

Both the S-Band DAB Bandpass filter and the Low Power VHF DAB Bandpass filters offer DAB band tunability, small size, excellent temperature stability and power handling capability.

- The new Field Adjustable Directional Coupler is suitable for

frequencies of 10 MHz to 2 GHz. Produced in sizes of 1-5/8 inches

EIA to 8-3/16 inches EIA, these couplers are designed for a

worldwide market and have applications throughout the broadcast

spectrum. This new coupler offers an economical, quick, and

simple method of installation and adjustment with a directivity

in excess of 32 dB.
