Cha2, I'm struggling with this issue this morning. Your reference to a different "animal" is on target, though Moore has already chosen "Godzilla" as the term proper in the eWorld. I'm struggling to determine whether we need an equivalent for "King" as well...but I need to get my hands on the revised Manual before I can take that bold step.

Regarding AOL, I do not believe the "first to Market" or email arguments will suffice in deeming AOL a Godzilla. Just doesn't hold water over the long term based on my experience. Many in the space are understanding that AOL's real value proposition was its "EOU" or "ease of use" theme throughout the aol experience. Unfortunately for AOL, their competitors are figuring this out in a hurry. This characteristic just doesn't strike me as a "mechanism for creating switching costs". IF anything, the email address issue you raised may be a more substantial argument as user slide up the experience curve.
