Not much I can add, really. Most of the TFT suppliers belong to huge Japanese or Korean conglomerates. Most of the equipment makers are Japanese, but in many (most?) cases they aren't pure FPD plays. Either they also do industrial glass, or they also do IC equipment. And most of them are also Japanese. Most likely pure plays are in lithography and test/inspection, which both have pretty unique requirements.

The best resource to check would be the Society for Information Display (http://www.sid.org/), the biggest US-based trade association in that field. You might also look at a company called Interlingua (http://www.interlinguacom.com/index.html), which translates a lot of the Japanese trade journals into English.
