Djane: All you comments are true. But I would like to point out one big difference between Internut plays and G*. The Internut businesses establish themselves and anyone who is interested can get involved, it is completely open. The idea is to maximize gains - quickly.

G* on the other hand, is closed. The only way to gain access to it is through the good graces of the Service Providers. They are the gate keepers. Without their active support the system goes under utilized.

That is the fear that many have expressed on this thread. We are at the mercy of large multinational concerns. Multi-billion dollar concerns whose bottom line wont be effected much by a successful G*. It just might be that they are more concerned with a negative response to a failed G*.
They understand that the public's memory is short. They want a slow roll out and reduced expectations. If things are bad, they say they knew it would be. If things are slow, they say wait a couple months and by then the public will have forgotten about G*. Either way they minimize the impact to their stock/business.

This is the one area the SP model does not serve the G* investors. The time frame for success is different. G* investors will be hammered for a slow roll out. The SPs would rather take the slow roll out approach to minimize potential losses, not maximize gains.
