The latter, it's just a big writeable CD. I highly doubt that it's a real time DVD-Video recorder. That comes later. Think about it. There would be FAR FAR more press on this if it was. You could, just like you can on a CD-RW, record some video, compress it somehow, and store it on the DVD-RAM as files.
