Ursus Customers Pleased With Results of Thestream.com Pilot
SUNRISE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 3, 1999--Ursus Telecom Corporation (NASDAQ/ NMS: UTCC) talked today about the results of the PHASE 1 pilot launch of theStream.com, the Ursus e-business site soon to be launched in full commerce mode.
"We are more than enthusiastic about the results we've seen", said Jay Chavez, VP of Worldwide Internet Services, "with nothing more than word of mouth promoting the site, the response has been overwhelming." Chavez went on to comment "When I looked today and saw over 150,000 hits from more than 10 countries, I was astounded. Imagine what the response will be when we launch our marketing efforts and begin to turn up affiliate sites in foreign languages around the world."
One of the most surprising statistics Chavez learned from site analysis is that nearly 90% of the site visits which originated in the USA came from McLean Virginia, home to AOL servers, a sponsor for Net2phone.
