Stew, obviously MSFT has screwed this up so far. They've done a terrible job of getting the WebTV product out to market with a clear concise message to consumers. Belluzzo's appointment will hopefully be the catalyst for the development of a value added customer proposition using this service.

The combination of WebTV and MSN should have been completed long ago. If anything, WebTV should simply be another distribution channel for MSN, but MSFT, again, screwed this opportunity up royally. I do think this is where they are headed, however. The Microsoft TV unit will probably be renamed and moved into a separate group outside of Belluzzo's realm. It's really a different business as its on the enabling side of the software business, not the consumer interface side.

Either way, if MSFT can improve this group and reorganize in a value added fashion, GMST will certainly benefit.
