NN's EVP of Europe Middle East, Pearse Flynn, makes the Irish Times:

"[Flynn] moved to Newbridge Networks after being headhunted, and found there were acronyms for everything and a "technical snobbery".
"Are we selling to humans or are we selling to technical droids? The reality is we are selling to humans.
"I said you need to make this so I can explain it to my mother."
Newbridge, called after a town in Wales where its founder is from, suffered from `stealth marketing', he adds, where it allowed its products to spread the company's reputation. "I have seen companies with a lot less than Newbridge doing a lot more. . . . "

I know NN got Telecom Eirrann's ADSL contract, but I'm not sure if it's through BT. Someone else may know.
This week Flynn hosted a 3-day all-Europe marketing and sales conference in Wales (guess where?) and it was a success from start to finish. The first night there were 700 in attendance and I'm told there were meetings and informal planning sessions almost non-stop for the entire time. "I didn't get to bed before 3:00 a.m. once," my friend said. He also gave me a run-down on TM's hotel. As a Newbridge shareholder, I fully plan to stay there some day. :)
If you want to know where TM stands in Wales, all you have to do is look at your toll-bridge pass to find out. As you cross the Severn, every one has NN's logo on the back and all attendants have been trained to hand them out logo-side up.
Guerilla warfare, indeed!
