Pardon me. I was under the impression that America now has a quarter of a billion fewer acres of forest now than in 1492. And let's not forget that ozone hole, global warming (please don't try to tell me that hasn't been proven), and oil spills. The fact is, the Earth is a lot worse off now. We could very well end up killing ourselves off.
