Howdy Blue Thanks it's good 2B Back. Best part of vacation always should be the coming home! One of the first things I did (when I finally could get to the phone, teenager must have it first) was read Techride. After I looked at my stocks, of course, you know.....
Reading the great posts here from just this week truly was a delight. Nice to see Glenn found us, Howdy Glenn! And Welcome to many other good new folks here too - like elmatador, Len, Bob, Lost1, JorgX. Moooons, so good 2CU around again...I still have SRCM and didn't clean it out with the recent culling of bowwows so does that tell ya I think of it? KLP, Fred, and levy, great posts good 2CU. And Joe, Carolyn, and Susan, great 2CU2... hope I didn't forget anyone! HIYA!
I'd love some PM's, help me settle back in. Love to meet new folks & read your profiles.Always glad to have more smart stockheads with a spirit of play and grooving on the surrealism of investing to Take The Edge Off The StockPicks... Making Money While Having Fun, we do like to have both at the same time!
I love it! Quite a fascinating cast of characters!
Blue, you called Ground Control To Major Tom early this morning alritey, like you've called it so many times before - Good Call!! It goes beyond factoids, it's a feeling you get in the solar plexus isn't it, like flying at night without instruments must be?
Isn't it amazing how Top Secret Mission Codename "Two If By Sea" coordinated Techride Rally objectives incommunicando LOL...seriously, I found it amazing that a huge high-tech state-of-the-art cruise ship had no Web Room or even facilities for independent internet access. No Internet Aboard, I asked around. I missed the whole BoomShakaLakaLaka today except for the reports on the radio, it sure must have been fun.
Looks like if we're lucky there'll be more to come next week. Why not a historically contrarian pattern for A Rally the beginning of September, it's been Off for awhile in other ways so why not Off this time to our liking? Might be a hint for this next mysterious quarter, if you know what I mean.
Techride History...
(Some "Two If By Sea" and "Techstock '99 Background for the benefit of the new folks):
(psssst....shhhhh....here's how we manipulate the market on Techride when a timely opportunity arises....we get High with a little help from our friends...shhhhhh)
Mick Jagger (Who's Never Been A Beast Of Burden) has been performing "Start Me Up" for "Techstock '99" on Techride and before that on our old board now long gone for our cyber stock comic enjoyment - whenever the market moves the way we like it, or even sometimes he'll sing "Gimme Shelter" or some such when it goes fast in the other direction). When things get really iffy, Dick Dale appears with an old box of matches from The Chart House (a legendary chain of waterfront bar/restaurants now defunct but never 2B forgotten by surfers, sailors, and all human flotsam and jetsam who've ever been brought in by the tide to rest there)... Dick lights a bonfire with a match, leads a chant with some fabulous guitar, and then The Surfboard Sacrifice takes place - cyberly as well, of course.
At least one of us sometimes wonders if Dick Dale might be closer around than we think... but that's another story and the possibility of a revelation of such a mystery in the future is better than ever asking a direct question or contacting or prying if you know who/what I mean. And with Mick you never know either, that guy could be anywhere.
Anyway (back to The Mission).....
Something Had To Be Done. Mick and Jerry announced they were divorcing, Mick gallavanted off with another lady, and Jerry wound up on the yacht of a Certain Web Synergy Mogul we all hold close to our wallets and maybe even our hearts. Mick stopped singing "Start Me Up" here and Look What Happened. Maybe he had a reason to pout if not a logical reason because of what HE was doing, you know, people are funny like that in romanticul matters. And Our Web Synergy Mogul (having our hardearned $$$$s riding on his doings) shouldn't get TOO VERY distracted from bidniss, tho of course everyone needs a vacation....
So I jumped aboard one of the Biggest Ships Afloat and Reversed A Hurricaine Thanks To Dick, threw another Surfboard into the flames at the right place (NY Port Authority Parking Lot Down By The Riverside) at the right time according to the frenzy of the improv guitar from Dick and the cadence of the chant told me when. It goes like this - "Well Ah-Bay (Whoa) Well Ah-Bay (Whoa) Koovie Sawwie Savvah (WhOOOOAH)". After Surfboard Sacrifice, I knew Hurricaine Dennis was reversed and the voyage and the market would be fine. It was immediately time to board the boat, and with no internet I couldn't tell these events til now.
The Mission was to Make Mick Happy So He'd Sing "Start Me Up" Again. Dick Dale showing up at a time of need to help, well, I was Verklempt.
So, anyway... Mission Accomplished. Jerry's Off Our Internet Mogul's Yacht (as I tempted her to do by displaying what I'd bought on my cabin veranda) because she'd had it with No Shops and No Spa Onboard...and when she heard The Triumph Had No Internet...well, she gave a big whoop of joy Texas-style. Autumn's coming, all the Net Conventions and Convergences will be happening, getting ready for Dotcom's Internet Holiday Shopping Time, and it's High Time Our Favorite Internet Synergy Mogul Got His Mind Back Into Cyberspace Again With The Rest Of Us Anyway.
This cruise was a dangerous job, but someone had to do it.
I'm just happy to be alive to tell the tale, Me Hearties.
Just as I was wavering about whether to board, I heard "The Wedge" coming closer and closer... turned around, and There Was Dick. Didn't Hurricaine Dennis reverse itself around 3 o'clock Monday afternoon? There's The Proof.
Sea Control To Major Tom, 10-4 Back To Ground Control, Over.
Your Strategy of Baiting The Hook With Onboard Shopping Was Absolutely Brilliant; And It Worked!!!
