Jeff - <Intel used to sandbag with the Pentium II/III and Celron lines. If AMD announced a 700 MHz speed grade the market wouldn't pay anymore than the 650 MHz speed grade since Intel can barely make 600 MHz Pentium III. This is marketing 101. Remember in the not too distance past when Intel totally controlled the high-end. Intel would usually announce one new speed grade per quarter and gave the perception that they were dropping prices when in their ASP remained constant or moved up. Intel sandbagged quite a bit on the Celron A because they thought they would steal designs from the Pentium II when in actuality the Celrons could run as fast or faster than the Penitum II.>

Yeah? Well, the above is TOTAL BS 101. If you really believe this crap, short INTC and stick around. Nobody sandbags already made CPU's. Even if your Celeron analogy had any merit, which I don't believe it does, were talking about the high end here. Why in the hell would AMD sandbag revenue it could have TODAY, and let high end CPU's sit on the shelf and lose value. Unbelievable. Does you lack of understanding of the business come from the fact that you work for a fabless concern?

<AMD just started their ramp on the Athlon in Q2. AMD doesn't have all the manufacturing muscle that Intel has so don't expect millions the first quarter. I also think that AMD is converting to a 0.18 process which is slowing the 0.25 ramp.>

I'm seeing indications of just how well AMD's .18 "ramp" is going. You have a point here.
