Robert,

I believe Cohu will blowout earnings for this quarter. The one analyst with an estimate has 59 cents I believe but something in the order of 80 cents plus is more likely given the backlog.

More importantly, everyone of Cohu's major clients is looking very strong right now. Intel is coming out with the new Merced chip. Communications equipment is really driving silicon demand but the best news of all is that DRAM prices are taking off like a rocket. After dropping below $5 per 64 meg chip a month or so ago the spot prices have zoomed past $10 per 64 meg chip. For a company like Micron that is absolutely great news and a sign of a significant capacity crunch building. Micron is the best financed and most efficient DRAM player so it appears likely they will add capacity (at testing) and that has to be good news for Cohu. Bottom line, I think we have significant earnings upside from current estimates.

We blew away TER on an earnings basis last quarter (Cohu 48 cents and TER 40cents). TER just split and Cohu is about to split. Based upon an adjusted split price Cohu is trading for half the price that TER is and has greater earnings. Go figure. Eventually the market will notice the smaller cap stocks and your $72 per share (pre split) may be very realistic a lot sooner than most would expect.

Good luck all!
