Why do you care what the stock ownership position of a poster is? Is a negative analysis any more or less true if the person is short, is neutral or is long?

The answer to your question is obviously YES! If a long hypes a stock or a short is negative on a stock, I can figure out their motivation and take the post with a grain of salt. Also, if a long gives a negative comment, I am more apt to believe them than I would a short with negative comments.

Most of us just do not know what motivates someone with no position in a stock to give negative comments. (Everyone has some motivation for the comments they make).
