Thank you, Neo. Let me share a story with you, then.
When I was a child, I DID want to be a boy. But "penis envy" had absolutely nothing to do with it. (Freud came a cropper with that one.) It was simply that little boys got to do all kinds of fun (that word again) things that little girls (little girls in the American South) were not supposed to do.
I had two older brothers, and I am told that the first words I ever uttered were: "Me, too!" When they climbed a tree, I did too; and when I fell out, there would always be some horrified nanny there to say: "Little girls don't climb trees!" I was forever running away/looking for adventure; and, when found, always got the same lecture: "Little girls don't go running off alone!" And so on...
So, who wouldn't want to be a boy, under the circumstances?
To this day, it drives me nuts to hear somebody say -- "you can't do that/you must do that because you are a woman/man." Obligatory sex roles be damned! Do what you want to do, what comes naturally to you. That is why I liked Zoltan's response -- "I am a person trapped in a man's body" -- so much.
