There was a segment about McCain on NPR yesterday. At one point, McCain was answering questions from a textile worker who wanted him to agree that the Defense Department should buy 100% American made goods. McCain said, no, that would not be fair to the taxpayer, to make them pay more for things that we could buy cheaper from our allies. And the worker said, the result will be that we lose these industries in the United States. McCain responded that he would support job training and relocation. Which I REALLY do think is a state function. So, that makes HIM a Big Government Republican in my book. As you probably suspect, I am very Libertarian, but I vote Republican. I was very active in Libertarian politics in Louisiana before I went to law school. After Reagan was elected, I realized how much effect a Republican administration can have, so that's at least something that is do-able.
