Your comments regarding the Yippee's and the hard right's characterization of government agents as "jack-booted thugs" are troublesome to me. When government agents put on combat boots, para-military clothing, arm themselves with sophisticated weaponry, and then attack civilians who don't share the current regime's philosophy, then IMHO it's not at all surprising that someone would use that epithet. What would be more appropriate?

I'm not of the opinion that the actions at Waco were premeditated murder, but rather that it was an instance of planning gone astray, and emotions unbridled. It was tragic, and there was a coverup, IMHO.

I feel that government always resents that which does not agree with it's objectives; but problems usually don't arise until the government attains a size where they may become coercive, and the populace becomes apathetic. And IMHO, that's a very real problem today.
