My guess is that I may happen to be in their R2 test area. Unless you are in Santa Clara or Sunnyvale (I think the R2 test area was around there) a more likely explanation might be that you are close to a WAP. If you check with ATS311? you can tell if the repeater radio you are using is a WAP or not. I used to be located where the nearest radio was a WAP and had very good performance, better than when I have to go through microcell repeaters.
