I think you and I are on the same page regarding AOL.

My conclusion: I don't think xDSL will result in a big profit addition for AOL, it just means they aren't as vulnerable to a competitive thrust from cable as some believe, IMO.

It's my impression that those who are most vocal about that see it as a winner-take all game. I don't. If ATHM and AOL get together in some fashion to be business partners, which I think is nearly inevitable, both will do well. If they don't partner, I still think both will do well but not nearly as well as what could be.
