Bill,

This sandbagging talk is ridiculous. Holding the chips for a higher speed grade.

Let me ask you a question...what usually happens when a faster speed grade is announced?

If you said price cuts on all the other (lower) speeds...you're right.

When was the last time you actually saw a faster speed introduced and the top end price actually went up while the others remained. Never.

It would be in AMD's best interests to sell everything they make and when they are sure of a higher bin, they release it as such. Drop prices across the board on the slower ones...the way it's been done for the last several years.

PS: When was the last time AMD announced anything and actually had it shipping in volume that day? They claim to have a 650 now and shipping but it appears quite rare, and you actually think they'd set aside a bunch of chips for a faster grade? When they decide they can make a faster in enough volume (2 or 3) they'll announce it and it will be as rare as hen's teeth.
