Not having listened to the other codecs yet myself, in my mind it's all about the music the labels will be offering for the consuming public. I agree with bob. If the Sonys of the music world don't code what the public wants to hear, this will all be for not. I highly doubt that will happen.

Too many $$$ at stake here. When you see the Shania Twains, Smashing Pumpkins, & Placido Domingos of the world available for download it sure as hell won't be as an MP3! Keep in mind all the artists' contracts probably have to be renegotiated to include digital sales. Any music industry people out there who can shed some light on that subject? I'd be interested in hearing about it.

Another 30-60 days and the picture will be clearer. Expect a bunch more volatility in the absence of news. God I love roller coasters!
