I had a conversation with a friend of mine who attended Emerald's Investor Conference on Friday. Here are the key points that he came away with from Bruce Johnson's presentation and his talk with him afterwards: -Wellpoint will start HealthAxis off with their "premier" product. Once they have been up and running with it for awhile, Wellpoint will put additional products on the site. -While they expect the 3rd quarter to be insignificant, they expect the 4th quarter to show "significant gains". -In the past, HealthAxis was contacting insurance companies in an attempt to get them to hear their presentation. More recently, insurance companies have been contacting HealthAxis, wanting to know about their services. -They expect that 2 or 3 more carriers will be live by the end of the year. -They will have the balance of their financing in place by the end of Sept. -The fairness opinions are now completed, but the SEC paperwork for the merger will be very time consuming. -Robbie Stevens is expected to give coverage to HealthAxis.com, once the merger is completed.
