For the thread. I was called by CNBC the other day to take the opposite side (negative) of a fundo. who had the positive side of Dis. I was happy to do it but the producer was not sure the powers to be would like a tech with a fundo. It's fine with me but apparently not with the station. The long and short of it was this. We went back to the long term chart of DIS AND KO and noticed that the trend line had been held since early 1980, like 1981 in that range. Both broke those trendlines this year. This suggests the leaders we have gotten so use to over the last 40 years, have changed. My guess is MER is no longer the leader in Brokerage as E-Trade just might be the brand name now. Cyclical stocks are now SUNW, CSCO etc. Not AA and MTC etc.
This is why it might be good to place a QQQ trading on the AMEX (NASDAQ 100) in your poftfolio and just leave it alone.
I might have said this on the other thread, can't remember but since I'm on this one now thought I would weight in with this thought for now. Tom
