Heard an interesting analyst comment - If the banks make necessary reforms and remove the policies that have caused the problems, if they spend on needed technology, the merger will be a good one. If they do not, and it will be difficult for them to make the needed changes, the merger will be three banks with problems creating a 'big' bank with major problems.

The analyst estimated two years to tell which direction the unified bank will go, but he wasn't optimistic.
