Past corrections were induced by concerns of earning slowdown. These were just concerns and proven later untrue. Particularly last correction was started by a WSJ report about Korea government regulatory change. QCOM management came out to diffuse the concern. This time, it is different. QCOM management itself sent a messenger to warn the investment community of intensifying competition, price erosion, component shortage, margin slipping. More importantly, these problems will continue well into next year. No end in sight yet. On the other hand, stock price has risen 12 folds. No one knows how far it may fall.
