To be a conservative you have to believe that:

... governments create oppression and and businesses always do the right thing.

... there should be no public schools, only private schools for the rich and for the people who think like me and go to church like me.

... capitol punishment is good and abortion on demand is bad. In other words, they believe that coat hangers are preferrable to doctors and that everybody in jail is guilty, even the poor.

... every American should be armed, just in case the Chinese invade, no matter what the cost is to the stressed out American family (read day-traders goin' nuts).

... there has never been any environmental damage from industry. Air pollution, water pollution, smog are all illusions.

... gay people are sick and evil.

... the military is always right, even if toilets don't cost $300 anywhere but in the Pentagon.

... the NRA is good, because more guns are good. In fact, they believe the more guns the better.

... that the AIDS virus is the result of god taking revenge on evil-doers.
