drkoop.com Maintains #1 Ranking Among Health Sites and Women Across All Four Weeks in August

AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- drkoop.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: KOOP - news), a leading Internet healthcare network led by Dr. C. Everett Koop, former U.S. Surgeon General, today announced its No. 1 overall ranking among dedicated healthcare Web sites, as well as its No. 1 leadership position among women visitors throughout all four weeks in August, per findings released by PC Data.

According to PC Data, drkoop.com maintained a lead of no less than 80% -- and as much as 175% -- more unique users over all other healthcare Web sites week-over-week through August 28. drkoop.com experienced its highest unique user rate during the week ending August 28 when 1,168,000 unique users visited the site, according to PC Data.

The PC Data week-over-week statistics also revealed that through the week ending August 28, drkoop.com was the most visited healthcare Web site among unique female users. During those four weeks, drkoop.com held a lead of no less than 74%, and as much as 207% over any one of the three competing healthcare Web sites which alternated in the second place position.
