Tens of thousands of East Timorese are fleeing for their lives by plane and ferry, as pro-Indonesia militias threaten to hack all East Timorese to death with machetes. News of the atrocities has reached Taiwan which, as usual, doesn't care. Taiwan's main newspaper, The Taipei Morning Pokemon, today features sports stories on its front page, along with news of a fisherman who pulled a 227 pound Tuna out of the Formosan Straits. The paper's only apparent allusion to the tragedy appears to be a new section in the Classified Ads section entitled: "Homes For Sale--East Timor."
