One can only assume Ni would experience somewhat of the same pattern initially, however as new Ni deposits develope (laterites, VB, Werner?? etc.) supply/demand may stabilise. When, at what price is anyones guess at this time, but I firmly believe this will happen at much higher prices than we are seeing today.

The supply side of PGE may not stabilised as easily since no new primary PGE deposits are sitting in the wings. Therefore the upswing in PGE prices may last longer or may rise quicker on a percentage basis as a result.

My only concern would be over production from say Noril'sk or from the Merensky Reef. Also a threat would be other deposits coming on stream such as Polymet's Dunka Road deposit which is possibly the largest (+800 million tonnes grading .43% Cu, .11% Ni and .55g/t PGE) undeveloped viable polymetallic deposits in the world if Ni, Cu and PGE prices rise to much. Probably others. Who knows?
