Hi Lather, sorry if I am putting my nose where it doesn't belong, but according to official Catholic dogma, a fertilized egg is a child. Life begins at conception. This isn't a liberal or conservative idea, it's a Catholic idea. Other religions may agree, I don't know. With respect to implantation, that's usually out of the mother's hands, so it's not "murder" if the egg naturally doesn't implant. I, personally, believe that human "life" begins when brain function begins, be it ever so rudimentary. But this isn't something I'd impose on others.
