Economics is not dealing with scientific objects and can't offer anything close to a metrology, that is there is not such a thing as a 'scientific measurement' in economics. Economics is an ideological field, it's prey to ideological schisms between orthodox and maverick parties.... Of course, as a managing rationale endorsed by politicos worldwide, economics vitally needs to wrap itself up in a scientific veneer: to successfully bluff the plebs, its set of laws must look as undisputable as the laws of gravity.
