Hello Bob,

As you have probably notice there has been a proliferation of "nothing threads" the past few weeks. In fact, I partied on two of them over the weekend knowing they would soon disappear when you returned. To the best of my knowledge all but one was started by accident by relatively new members to SI. I think I may know why. I stumbled on a problem over the weekend while trying to design the "Final Edition Thread":

Subject 30563

I was originally trying to redesign the first attempt using the New SI. When you go to the page that allows you to preview the new thread you are starting, something is not working right. If you click on submit a preview you come up with a blank screen! I tried 2 or 3 times. I finally gave up and decided I would go back to Classic to start the thread. I was surprised to fine that the thread was up and running with 5 minutes edit window left.

I believe two things are currently happening:

1. Some are trying to start new threads and when they don't see anything, they back space and erase their effort leaving a "nothing thread"

2. Others are starting multiple threads on the same subject because they haven't figured out how to preview their original thread in the New SI. In fact, the only way I found to was to keep two windows open.

3. Finally, some just start "nothing threads" on purpose. Only one I know of for sure.

Maybe this problem can be solved and ease your work load a little.
