Unless the Denver police are under control of Bill Clinton, this again shows that police responses and tactics need a nationwide review free of partisan politics.

I think the sorriest aspect of the whole Waco tragedy is its politicization. This is a violent society that produces violent police, violent ATF agents, and violent FBI agents. These men and women are not part of any political movement, or indoctrinated at any point in Clinton/Reno paramilitary tactics. The violence that is endemic in society expresses itself in how our police act and react. These tragedies occur again again, and it doesn't matter whether the law enforcement agents call Democrat Clinton boss, or receive their paychecks from Republican New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani.

I say shame of the hard right extremists who have made this a partisan politic issue, thus setting us back years in the debate over how law enforcement officers throughout the nation should behave towards the citizenry.

As an aside, can anyone tell me what the heck goes on in Colorado? Columbine, Jon Benet, Football games tear gassed...I'm sure I'm missing something. Is their something going on in Colorado that's behind this nutty behavior?
