okay daverose,

here's what i learned when checking further into your situation. (btw, i used the netscape newsgroup feature and searched the words hidden frame. about 18 entries popped up, all dealing with matters related to yours.)

to summarize, the problem probably isn't netscape, but your operating system making netscape crash. here are some suggestions gleaned from the messages i read...

1) disable crashguard.
2) upgrade video driver from the chip or card manufacturer's website.
3) a windows '95 winsock upgrade may be a good idea as well, but read carefully to see if it's appropriate for your version.

4) perform basic system maintenance like clearing cache and history.

imo, the winsock upgrade is a good bet.
