Eric L: If repeat if Bell Atlantic swallows hard and works out an agreement with Vodaphone to permit another nationwide CDMA system, that will be good news indeed.

However, as one who cheered loudly when Bell Atlantic had bought out Airtouch to create just that network only to have that shattered by Vodaphone, I will believe it after it has happened completely. After all the Airtouch/Bell Atlantic agreement was a done deal - until Vodaphone offered enough money to blow it up.

Clearly a Vodaphone/Bell Atlantic deal on almost any terms will be good for CDMA and the Q.

But while hopeful, not counting chickens yet.
